    What do eat before class?

I'm new to BJJ training and I'm overweight. So typically I'm not eating much of anything. However, when I skip meals and then train I'm feeling lightheaded and gas out really, really quickly.

On the other hand, if I eat a meal (not a huge meal mind you, just something small) I then feel nauseous during training.

    What do you recommend?

I am pretty overweight myself, but skipping meals is horrible for you. Its way better to eat light then to not eat.

Plain oatmeal. Maybe 1 cup of quick oats plain. Works absolute wonders.

Try toast and peanut butter... It is simple and shouldn't give you any problems.

Thanks guys for the fantastic advice! Today I'm going to try the banana and orange juice.

I'm also going to look into the Fighters food too. I need something fast absorbing!

If you eat banana/OJ 30-45 minutes prior, you will have tons of energy.

But you can eat it as late as 15 minutes prior to training. I would eat anything and train immediately.

Let us know how it works for you.
