I think Nerves are standard...We dont have the many comps around here, theres 1 in October coming up Im planning on doing but depends on the enrollment...problem here is lots of white belt competitors but at blue or advance no-gi theres not a lot for example in the last gi tourny around here there was 1 other blue in the 147 and under division. for a $60 registration fee, not really worth it for 1 match, lol.
With us, it kinda thins out at Purple. I'm fighting on Sunday, and my division (Purple Light) is 4 people. But I've not fought any of them before, so it should be fun. ^_-
That said, fought the Pan-ams, and that was a 65 man division, so, uh, that kinda makes you think that sometimes small divisions aren't such a bad thing after all. @_@
Take care,
Stalks
Update after the weekend, record would now be 11-2 :-)

Update on my grappling record.
43-36
We just had BJJ Finnishopen this weekend.
I won my first fight on open weight 16-0 and lost second 0-2 got bronze. On my own weight I only had one opponent. I won him by advantage (I should of had two more points thou)
Time for a little update.
BJJ has gone to 12-11, officially 13-11 as one of my opponents didn't make weight and didn't show up today... but but...
Anyway, got 2nd place in BJJ Finnish Opens today and like I earlier wrote I won another tournamnet (3 fights). Sucked big time. Only 5 guys in my category, the first oppnent didn't show up and lost the final 3-0. I totally froze in the final... even if I had the best cornerman in the worldBut later I checked the brackets, so it was ok. He defeted his earlier opponents 15-0 and 10-0, so my loss 3-0 wasn't that bad... haha! But he was better today, next time I'll get him.
Yep! You definetly had the best cornermen in the world.
But you really have only like 30 fight in grappling? I tought that you had many many more.
Well I didnt compete in the Finnish Open but could update my GB Gym record here,
So now I stand 3 wins, 4 losses all in white belt
I suppose, as painful as it is, I should update my record to 0-3. I figure I'm just getting all my losses out of the way up front.
I went from going 0-4 in my first 4 matches to my current record of 3-5 with the recent loss being by an advantage where I should have won or at least went into overtime. Also, I recently won my division in no-gi.
No matter what my record, I am excited that I seem to be getting a grip on my mind and executing technique in competition like I do in training. ALthough I do hope that I can one day claim a winning record.
