I think Jits would be exciting to watch in the olympics.. the only thing I think though they may do time limits and such more strictly or shorter then what I have seen in some Jits tourneys... but that would help push action and such.. nothing else would really need to be changed..

One of the things we discussed when Rigan was here was a simplification of the Jiu Jitsu rules, for example doing away with Advantages.

Why, Advantages while good for deciding winners, add to the complexity of the rules, and they make many guys play a game of advantages. That is, they may "act" like they are trying to submit, but may not actually be trying to, only to do just enough to gain an advantage when it helps them with their score.

I actually competed for the first time in Judo today, and got third place in the black belt masters, heavy weight division.

Yeah, there is some stuff I don't like in Judo, but man was it a much faster game! You had to attack, attack, attack. You couldn't take your time on the ground, you had to be decisive!

I was smoked during my first match! Much faster pace than Jiu Jitsu! I actually thought the ne waza was decent, they let it go if you were doing something with it other than resting.

I won by to Wazari's, which are two minor throws, but the ground work is what saved my ass, as we went to the ground about 5 times and I converted it every time causing my opponent to waste tons of energy.

Anyway, I have some issue with Judo, but I think they also do a lot of things right too.

Jiu Jitsu, IMO, has the opportunity to get it right I believe.

I have no idea what that is but I'm not going to fall for it.

I know what you mean.. there is a chance to do everything and learn from the mistakes made by other combat sports.
