So around this time last year I injured my right knee and was out about 5-6 weeks. Last monday while training I injured my left knee and it sucks. I hated being out that long and it seems i'm looking at the same or longer this time. Went to the Dr and he said it looks like a grade 2 MCL sprain. Wants me to ice and rest and wear a hinged knee brace for 2 weeks and than go back and maybe get an MRI if its still bad. Feels better a little every day but stairs still hurt a lot especially going down. Last night it felt like I had a lot of fluid on the knee but after icing and elevating it seems better today. Really hoping its not that long before I can go back atleast lightly. Injuries suck.
Google Ligaplex. It seriously is friggin magic pills that work on strengthening the tendons AROUND the sprain, to compensate for the weakness. Good luck.
Treatment can mean spending time talking to patients about their physical and
emotional problems, examining their diet and exercise habits, and doing blood tests to look for medical or
environmental causes for depression....
