    Knee on belly escapes

Just a quick question. What type of defense/escape strategy do you guys use against someone with a really good knee on belly transition game with submissions. I try to use the running escape where you turn away and then shoulder roll back to guard, but my legs always get thrown aside.

What I like to do is shrimp out like I'm going for a single leg in regular side control, but put your hand on their knee as a block. From there the knee is on the ground and you can single leg or go to guard.

worst advice ever. anyone that is any good will submit you with that one mistake. pushing the knee to the floor is what the guy on top wants. the guy will grab the wrist, spin over your head, and kimorra you. it is the same thing from white to black too

i dont mean extending the arm. if you keep it in tight and go fast enough you can either single leg or go back to guard.

One guy at my school has a fairly unorthodox kob. Instead of driving the knee into the sternum he drives the knee across so the upper shin is driving into the sternum. It's less pressuring but it makes any escapes turning in very hard.

That's just true knee on stomach. It's supposed to be in the sternum to disrupt breathing. You just have to be explosive when you turn or you can wait it out.
