LOL NEVER DATE THE GIRL YOU TRAIN WITH!!!!
Man thats like rule number one. The mat is your safe haven, your happy place, your home away from home. Think about it you and your girl get in argument before class and instead of you going to class to get away she gets in the car with you!! Plus, from experience never date a girl from the gym. If you are a blue belt, she will hook up with a purple belt. If you are a purple belt she will hook up with a brown belt. If you are a brown belt she will hook up with a black belt. If you are a black belt she will hook up with the teacher, if you are the teacher then she will meet a bigger name black belt and hook up with him. Its only natural its genetics, women are attracted to successful people because they provide safety, this is why the hot chicks go for ugly rich guys. if for some reason a girl is warped enough to do BJJ and be like one of us, she obviously doesn't care about material wealth. She cares about better things like success and following your dream. She will naturally be attracted to the most successful of BJJ practitioners. Man if you do decide to date a girl from the gym, don't be surprised when she dumps you and bangs your friend. I've seen this happen many many times!!!
Wife does not like you spending lots of time on the mats? Buy her a puppy!
She will be so smitten with it that she wont even notice you are gone![]()
Then congrats! Women are usually very serious about marriage so I am sure you will no issue at all with any kind of straying. I guess if you are lucky enough to marry the girl you train with than you should be ok. Out of curiosity... What belt level are you? Sometimes I think about trying to convince my wife to train but I have always decided against it. Im sure there are times it would be nice, you see a new move and say hey babe come here and let me try this de la riva sweep. Im sure there are a lot of pros to being married to someone who does BJJ.

I am super lucky as my wife trains also. She does mostly Muay thai so we are in the gym at the same time but not really training together. When we do train together it is more of a treat because it rarely happens. The other day i was so stressed she literaly kicked me out of the hose to train so i could feel better. The perfect way to get away. I have seen alot of relationships come from the gym and when they end it is super awkward.
Don't wish for it to be easier. Wish for you to be better.
Haven't had any problems yet training Bjj .. My two boys train Bjj I train and after a few years my wife now wants to finally join, she says "I'm there all the time , I might as well join already instead of sitting and watching"" ...
My wife actually pushed me to get back into something social after moving to a new town. She is busy with school most every night. We set aside one day where she doesn't do school work and I don't work or go to class. Even if we don't end up doing anything outside we are still spending quality time together. Communication is the key to any relationship. If something is bothering you talk it out without screaming at eachother. Who knows maybe you will get more time to train. :-)
