Can a Brown Belt in BJJ Promote to a higher rank in BJJ???
They are only supposed to be able to promote people up to a purple belt (plus stripes I think). Why?
And I thought it only was in certain countries with small numbers of Black belts that people with Brown/Purple could promote up to the belt under them?
I have a friend that is a brown belt from team balance. I asked him recently why he hasnt promoted anyone yet and he told me that he wasnt allowed to. I just wanted to know shouldnt he be able to promote up to atlest blue?? I have seen alot of other brown belts promote up to blue. Or is this something that Team Balance doesnt do intill you are a black belt???

Maybe its a school rule with him. I know at my school only our main professor does the promoting even the strips. We have 2 other blackbelts and 2 brown belts that teach and they dont give out anything.
