The number 1 thing is to work on your technique. If you dont practice you draw blank when you roll. Rolling is also very important though. It teaches you to stay calm in situations and helps everything flow. 3-4 times per class is nothing though. We do at least 10 5 minute rounds. This also helps your endurance and keeps your BJJ looking good when youre tired.
