Well, GSP couldnt see from his left eye for 2 rounds....and still won. I actually had a discussion about this last night with my girlfriend, because she said GSP victory was also good because he couldnt see from 1 eye, and still ¨dominated¨ the fight....and i told her...well... Koscheck couldnt see from 1 eye his whole last fight against GSP and still finish on his toes....thats impressive!...she got pissed (she loves GSP).
Now...really....i dont think GSP displayed a great performance (I AM NOT IMPRESSED BY YOUR PERFORMANCE GSP HAHAHAAHA), and we all were waiting and expecting much more of both fighters but, i have to accept that GSP again fought the smart fight, he stayed on striking mode, defended amazingly the 2 or 3 takedown attemps from Shields, and won the fight. We can always say that we expected him to finish the fight, be more agressive, submit him, knock him out, etc....but the reality is that he played safe, never left his fight plan, and kept the belt. On the other hand...i expected much more from Jake Shields, mainly because he was the contender, he had a superior level of grappling, and the other fact that I was pointing to my friends, is that Shields have fought huge fighters...heavier, stronger and bigger than GSP.... for example DAN HENDERSON, and he dominated that fight from round 1 to 5 in Strikeforce. I am kind of dissapointed by his performance, even though i love GSP as a fighter and as an example of an athlete, i wanted Shields to SHOCK the World.
The UFC 129 is the one of the best mixed Marital arts event in this year,
