i hate those guys 1 guy goes super hard with a kid an adul who weight probably 40 pounds heavier than the kid shouldnt be using brute strength but technique
Everyone mentions the guy that either thinks he's better than he is or the out of control spaz who needs to be taught a lesson, but has anyone rolled with someone who is really rough but is actually pretty decent. Having decent technique doesn't always mean having to treat everyone like fine china, but I understand the type of guy that your talking about and they make me mad. There are some people who don't mean to be excessively rough but every time you roll with them you end up catching a knee to the mouth or torquing your neck. I don't fault those guys though I feel it's my responsibility to adapt my game to deal with each individual partner.
A guy in my school has really good technique and he can also be somewhat rough sometimes. Ive caught a knee to the nuts countless times, an elbow to the face, etc. but I will say he never "injures" anyone and when he goes for submissions like armbars and stuff like that he never cranks it fast.
We have had people in our gym who were exactly the type that tries to rip your head off and the instructor had a talk with him cause he was just all around disrespectful . Well he ended staying a white belt for a long time all because of his poor attitude..
Oh yes... He's the biggest guy there. He'll go to kesa gatame and just judo press you for the whole 5 minute round. 280 lbs. doesn't feel too good for that long.
