It's sad to see 22 listed as an advanced age, because I started at 30 five years ago. I guess 22 would be old to start to become great though considering professional athletes have usually been playing their sport since they were kids.

What I would give to go back to when I was 20-22 and start than. I started when I was 32. I look at some of the really young kids that train with me now and some of these kids are gonna be bad ass when they're 20. Theres a kid whos like 12 or 13 who wins everything he does. Kickboxing fights, boxing, bjj tournys, wrestling matches, etc. He does everything. Not afraid to get in the ring with guys that are 3-4 years older and he holds his own.

yea I'm real fortunate that i started BJJ at 18 as opposed to much older. then again when your the youngest in the class, amongst a sea of 30 and up surly purple belts and above who are jealous that they can't do handstand pushups anymore like you can, it can get kinda hostile.
