I have owned 4 of these and borowed a few. I've owned 2 atama gold weaves great gis I give them an 8, also used a friends atama ultra lite a cpl times awesome for hot weather training or competitions they are like 2lbs lighter then your standard weave. I used to borrow a friends koral on occasion I believe it was the light also an awesome gi, light weight durable a little snug but I give it an 8 also. I recently grabbed a Ouano lightweight gi its actually a little thick compared to most light gis but I love the material its a little baggy I got an A4 I'm 6'1 210 I thought it would shrink to fit like my atamas but the sleeves are still a little long and its a little baggy, I would have to give it a 7.5. I also grabbed a breakpoit oilspill gi recently and I love it nice and light ripstop pants super comfy fits like a glove, but a little flashy, it has a lot of embroidery and patches and the colors are brite, with all that said its my favorite of all my gis, I give it an 8.5. And last I've borrowed a hanful of gameness pearls in the past five years of training and for 100$ you can't get a better gi unless its on clearance, a little snug for my build but great product, I've only tried the pearls I give them a 7.5. I know most of these brands keep popping up mainly atama that's cause its a favorite among instructors who have been traing for years since atama was all there was, I've always been told go with Atama. There is a lot of newer companies making a lot of noise, and they are making great gis, I'd love to try a shoyoroll or a lucky to see what all the hype is about, I just won't spend that much, I've rolled with guys who wear them and they feel like great gis, just never forked over the cash for one. Hope this helps
Breakpoint 8.5
Atama gold weave 8
Atama ultra lite 8
Koral light 8
Ouano lightweight 7.5
Gameness pearl 7

I love my Koral light gi's (I have white, blue and black) the jackets last a long time, but the pants are crap. Everyone I know who own's them say the same thing. I have blown the knees out of two pairs and the ass out of one. Our club was doing a seminar at Cyborg's school in South Florida, and for some reason he kept using me as his dummy partner, while in the middle of one of his tornado guard sweeps the ass blows right out of my pants (yes he noticed when I left to get changed). Lucky I had another gi with me as we were training at another school later that night. It was the first and only time I have mixed and matched colors (jackets and pants).
I hate to hijack this thread, but I am new to BJJ and just bought a Gracie Barra basic gold gi, wondering what others thought about this gi? I am 6'7" and have had a hard time finding a kimono that would fit my height etc so this one was one of the few I found that fit that bill. I got it, like the look etc but am wondering if anyone has experience with this gi, will it hold up to training etc (I am not going to be a competitor just doing BJJ for self defense). Also, I would liek to buy another gi and if anyone has suggestions on one that has sizes for taller people that would be helpful......seems that sizing is not standard from brand to brand 9as with all things I suppose).
Thanks!
