BJJ is really great for loosing the lbs. There have been a few people who have lost weight at our club since they started rolling. Anyone have any numbers for how many calories you burn perhour in bjj? It would be great to know so it can be compared with other activities.

I think the calories vary depending upon the lessons and all.. You roll a lot more rolling then you do during the instruction phase of the class I would wager.. and even then the amount would vary upon how long you last with your opponent
If you are in the Scranton Area of PA and are having trouble finding instruction or training partners or simply can not afford the training that is provided in Scranton.. Contact me. I am starting a BJJ club under the direction of a Jorge Gurgel Black Belt.

There are a few guys at our academy who lost 30-40 lbs in the first 4 months of training. It's awesome for weight loss
