I have a friend that got his blue belt in three months. That's no lie. I've never seen him train, but seems really fast to me.

I got my first stripe in like a month. The second one took a while because I got injured so like 6 months. I got my third stripe after about 8 months. Working towards my fourth.

I went from 0-3 stripes in about 5-6 months...however even tho I was still training 5-6 days a week it took me 6 more for my 4th. and my instructor said to me b4 my first tournament (when I was a 3 stripe.) if I wanted my 4th I had better bring him a gold medal. lol

My instructor expects a lot from me so I know if I want my blue belt sooner than later I better win at grapplers quest in March

I got my black in a little over four years and people say that is fast. But my quickest was to blue belt at four months. But I won, I believe, five or six tournaments in my weight class and the absolute to earn it.

I think we can all agree that's well deserved. What sucks for me is that in NY there are no competitions so I have to drive to NJ and there is only a grapplers quest like 4 times a year or less and NAGA is an awful tournament. So I'm shit out of luck on competing 6 times in 4 months.
