i noticed boxers who normally are considered to have good cardio (running, shadow boxing, skipping rope) it never seems to translate well to having good stamina on the ground, they like me get pooped out quickly when rolling even though they run 5K 3times a week etc. however i would guess it may be more to due with being out of their element then their cardio.

I remember having one instructor from brazil, he use to do 20min warmups (which i hated) before every class, shrimping back and forth, bridging drills, transitioning on a punching bag, all kinds of floor exersises (bear walk, tiger walks, crab walks), carrying some one your back... for what seemed like forever, and vise versa trying to stay on someone's back.... for what seemed like forever, dead pattern drills like hitting an armbar, the other guy escapeing, and reversing the armbar which would be done over and over as fast as you could. i hated those warmups but i have to say i could roll hard (75-95% not 20-30% like i do now) for hours back then only resting to get a drink.
We do the same thing. I took me months just to be able to hang with the warmups. Up-downs are my most hated.

I'm pretty traditional in my cardio. I do a lot of running and spend quite a bit of time on the elliptical. I have also taken up dancing in the past year. You wouldn't think it, but you'd be amazed how much you heart rate goes up while dancing. I am really focusing on trying to eat better for my heart, too. Now that I have been fixing a lot more heart healthy recipes instead of eating a lot of processed foods, I have found that I am able to do a lot more cardio than I used to.

    Allo!

I do cardio that complements my game. I tend to burst in/out of submissions/positions so I do something similar when doing my cardio.

I do sprints up a steep hill (only about 3-4 metres on about a 45-50degree angle) for 30 seconds straight then rest for 30 then repeat(rest is jumping or running on the spot at a light pace. never stationary). I do 4 reps and 5 sets but it varies depending on what other cardio I've done.
I also do interval running. Its pretty popular but for those who dont know its a great way to lose weight and help with burst speed/power. I have a timer on 3 minutes with a 1 minute break. I do some sort of cardio activity during the intial 3 minutes as long as its constant and gets ur hate rate to about 40-50%(shadow boxing and side steps are my fav but jogging is good) then during the 1 minute break i sprint as hard and as fast as I can for as long as possible (at this stage I start to gas and falter at 40-50 sec).
This keeps ur heart rate guessing and it is A LOT more fun than plain old running.
The times are variable of course and you can change it to suit your fitness level. When i first started doing interval running I was only sprinting for 10 seconds and almost writing some 8th year emo poetry to try help describe the pain i was enduring.
I do the interval running with a jump rope also. exactly the same principle 3 min moderate pace 1 minute pump that sh*t like a motherf**ker.
I dont pretend to know too much about human anatomy and physiology but since i've started doing this particular style of training of stamina has increased 5 fold.
But remember to do some normal medium to long distance running or straight skipping. Thisll complement your interval training!

*You're awesome* Thanks! Its all about compliments :P
    Hope this helps!

Basically burpees with a jump at the end. It's not that particular exercise that kills me, it's that it's buried within many others. Plus as a class we usually will do near 80 of them on top of everything else. And then it's on to drilling takedowns and throws.

Eliptical cause of a bad knee with no cartilage. Bas Rutten workout cd/dvd set. How do I say it without saying too much? Intimate relations are a great work out.
