is better to go to bed hungry or eat something even it is ice cream? or only eat ice cream after a real good wrokout at class. like i did tnoight lol?
Well..... Are you trying to lose weight or put it on? Generally I like to wait at least half an hour after eating before i go to sleep but that's just me for no real reason.
Are you following a diet plan or just reducing eating? So many different takes on losing weight man the hardest thing is finding one that works for you.
To be specific with your ice cream maybe try low fat yogurt or an alternative? I try to have a vanilla protein shake instead of a sweet if im still hungry.
My wife's started a diet to loose weight after having our twins and it says she needs to eat more even so not always the best idea to reduce your intake, try changing what you eat first then start changing the amounts.

wait a while before going to sleep, no matter what you eat. your body doesn't burn fat while your sleeping.
ive been eating what i usually but just eating less. i started at 210 and down to 185 im trying to get to 170. im also 5'10. i just feel like im gaining more muscle and staying at 185 and not losing more weight
I'm a skinnier guy, but I kinda let myself go a bit after some instability in my life and am now getting my butt back in gear. I was 190 at 6' which sounds fine, but I'm a skinny guy so much of that was fat. My theory on losing weight (this isn't too scientific) is to not eat things that make you fat.
For example: ice cream is right out, cheese is out, excess breads out, pretty much any high dosage of carbs is out, any ranch dressing or oil/vinegar dressings...
I don't think it's so much what TO eat but what NOT TO eat. If you have too many carbs your body will burn those and not your fat (basically - in actuality this is relative to a few things). If you have too much fat intake you will be working for nothing.
The thing is we all pretty much know whats bad for us, it's a matter of will power to not eat those bad things. Instead of ice cream make a turkey sandwich with no cheese. It's not like eating in Paris, but a little mustard will make it seem slightly more interesting. It's a give and get thing.
That is how I do it. I'm at about 164lbs, and thats because I've been gaining a bit of muscle as Ive been losing fat, now after about 2 months of working my butt off and eating very conservatively. Now I'm almost at the point when I can start increasing my food intake in order to get some more muscle on, hopefully....

I lost over 45 (going from 215-170) lbs doing the "I can make you thin" thing on TLC a couple years ago. Mainly it involved consciously eating. Knowing when you're stomach is full and not when your "brain is full". There were 4 or 5 golden rules, one of which was when you're hungry, eat and when you think you're full stop. Seems simple but we were able to eat anything we wanted and still lost the weight. Also there were techniques for busting cravings. Basically it went like this, willpower is weak but imagination is strong. What that means is that when you think of ice cream you imagine it being so delicious that it overrides your willpower. So what you have to do is imagine the worst possible thing that could bring you to almost gagging just thinking about it (in my case it was used diapers and still is). Whenever you get a craving for something imagine it smothered in (insert nasty thing) and usually the craving will go away. You really need to imagine it vividly though. It worked for me and my wife and we've kept the weight off for about two years.
